Would someone recommend me some books? I'm going back to school and the new school is huge. So, the library probably will be too.

Do not judge a book by it's cover
Just read this yesterday and I think my heart came together just to break and come back. It was amazing. Do not judge the book by it's cover. The front illustration and size of the book seems like it was for a child but the story is nothing like. The ending was making me sobbing and.... usually I write detailed reviews but I don't wanna give anything away. My advice: just read it.

Don't get me wrong!
Don't get me wrong; I adore John Green and his spectacular writing skills. But because of that I had higher expectations for this book. It started off strangely captivating; just like Looking For Alaska.It was adventurous, daring with moments of humor and deep thoughts. The hunt to find and scavenge through the clues to find Margo kept me guessing and wondering where she was hiding too. It was wonderful and had my attention until the very end. I was so anxious over her big explanation on why she had done what she had done. And her meaningful monologue at the end and miraculous plan from there. But sadly i was let down with nearly no explanation and only the two characters sharing a kiss goodbye to end the novel. I felt as if John Green just got sick of working on the book and threw the last two chapters together without care.

Between the misunderstood girl and new kid who captures her heart; this isn't your average love story. These two teens have their fair share of issues but unite after glances and small conversations in their school library to take on something greater: a haunted house. Alexis's home starts to turn into a nightmare. Her little sister's obsession with an antique porcelain doll seems strange but when things go missing and doors start to open and close with nobody touching them; that's when it is real. Together, Alexis and her untitled boyfriend pair up to save her little sister from the ghosts and demons haunting the walls. While taking down the unseen forces; their bond strengthens and they learn more about each other and their similar interest. One's that may not be the best in health.

It's been quite awhile since I have read this book but what I remember it was a great action packed novel. It is no Shakespeare or classic tale but a lower level read. Perfect for middle schoolers and below. It was a witty book with clever thoughts on how to take control and stabilize life with no humanity around. Reminded me a lot of "Lord Of The Flies".
"Cold tears as salty as ocean spray wet my face. I remember the day before she died, my mother took me out in our little fishing boat, out on the open water of the sea—the thrum and hiss of surf upon the shore behind us, the rhythm never ceasing. And she taught me something: strange and secret words in a foreign tongue, a lilting singsong cadence to it."
This novel was a bit hard to read because of the incest-rape and abuse. But, from someone who has read a bunch of sexual abuse stories, I think this captured the character reactions from someone who was raped quite perfectly. Usually, the character is just sad in the aftermath. But Jamie was: scared, timid, confused, anger, aware, shy and depressed because of what happened. THAT is how it really is afterwards. The time leaps were a little bit off putting but necessary in this story.
Overall, it was a wonderful book. But I wish it had ended stronger, along with more explanation of Sebastian's parents and better character development. It felt as if somethings were not fully covered and some holes in the story. But the transformation of Sebastian and his new understanding of the town was clear.
This book was phenomenal. It exceeded my expectations and really captured the thoughts of someone suicidal and in emotional pain. This was definitely a memoir, only someone who was put in an institute understands to the full extent of what it is liked to be locked away and getting help. My ultimate favorite book by far. So much respect for Susanna Kaysen. Too bad the movie was so off track of the novel and a complete lie. Not even worth watching the film.
